Avi problem - Vegas newbie

Helllo!

i am a vegas newbie and i need a litle bit of help from you that know vegas better than me :).

Everytime i try to drag a Avi clip with Xvid codec or any avi clip it will not be inserted in the video track. I dont understand why, i have Vegas 5.0 the newest and registered version.

Please help me

It is recommended to use DV AVI. Vegas cannot correctly use XviD for decoding and XviD is not a video format made for editing but for distribution only.

xvid works fine in vegas always IF :

you change the FOURCC header to DiVX / DiVX and have DiVX Pro installed ..
