AVI Recompression

I just bought Vegas yesterday and I'm quite new at using
it, but I noticed something that seemed to be missing while
rendering to an AVI file:

If I import an AVI file and I want to make modifications to
the audio and then render to a new AVI file using the
original video track, it looks like I have to re-compress
the video. It seems like there should be a setting that
says "no-recompression". Sound forge 4.5 has this setting
when saving (rendering) an AVI file. I feel that if I tell
Vegas to re-compress the video track then it will
needlessly take longer to render and also, perhaps, degrade
the video slightly because if it's being recompressed then
that implies that, internally, the video is bring
decompressed then recompressed.

Is there another way of rendering without having to
recompress the video track?

Yep, this is a problem. Will be addressed in a future release.

Thanks
Peter
