AVI removal? Recapture.

Apologies for what might be a dumb question . . .

If I keep a V4 project - myfile.veg - file, and delete its large AVI files, will it then re-recognise the same re-captured footage, of the same project? Will it continue to work with the same recaptured footage unhindered?

Grazie

Hi Grazie!
I think the answer to your question is in this thread (quite recently posted):

Thanks Alex,

So that's a yes - yes? - I always keep my VEGies fresh and safe! - Nothing worse than a limp cucumber - salad or not!

Yes, it's a yes. You can tell your Vegas just to recapture the offline stuff, and it prompts you for tapes and captures the avis to match your scenes. Didn't try it myself but should work ok (hope that's not another one that's ok with NTSC and doesn't work in PAL, like the "save media with project"). But that's a thing you can test on a short veg (whether fresh or not), I'll try that tonight on some shots of flowers and herbs (also vegetarian).

Recapture of media only works if you also have the sfvidcap file. I found that out the hard way. So: save BOTH your VEG file and the SFVIDCAP file someplace other than where your media is stored and make backups!

Yup! I'm a real "hoarder". Veggies and VIDcapies and ole iron!
