AVI Render/ Window Media Player issue

Hi,

I'm rendering a 2 min clip to AVI, which goes smoothly in Vegas. The problem starts when I try to open it in Windows Media Player. All I get is the Media Player opening, then going to white screen of death then the Microsoft pop up, 'There has been a serious error, would you like to send a report' thingy.

Is this is Vegas thing or surprise surprise, another of the many Microsoft things.

Which version of WMP are you using? .. Sounds like WMP doesn't have the right codec to view the type of AVI you have created in Vegas. If this is still a problem, be more specific about everything including your system specs, version of Vegas etc.

Also provide all the details about the file you rendered, answers can often be found there. There is a free tool called MediaInfo that will help you with this.

Here's the details, also a weird thing is I can encode a few seconds as AVI without a problem. The minute I do all of the 2min 20 sec clip WMV crashes.
