AVI's show only audio, no video

A newbie here...
Just got a new PC and was using Vegas Video 4.0 on my old without problem. On my new PC, when I insert an AVI clip, the video portion does not display, only the audio, even after rendering... help please... thanks

Sounds like you are missing a codec on the new machine that was present on the old machine. Exactly what format are these AVI files? DivX (or some variety)?

Are these AVI clips DivX by any chance? If so, you'll have to reinstall the DivX codec on the new computer.

In that case, you probably need an MJPEG codec. Do a search here for MJPEG.

I guess I lost the MJPEG codec... downloaded one, and now it works!!!
