I used Virtual Dub Mpeg-2 to make an avi from a 73,600 kb vob file. The resulting avi is 4,100,150 kb ! Is this correct or is there some kind of setting or compression variable or something?
People in the forums generally do not recommend using mpegs for editing. Is there any point in converting an mpeg to an avi through vegas or will the fact that its made from an mpeg mean that the avi quality is adversely affected since it is made from an mpeg? Just curious as I considered this option before finding Virtual Dub Mpeg-2 (and AVI2DVD)
I also considered capturing from the camcorder, but I have a Sony Handycam that uses mini DVDs instead of DV. Does Vegas's capture feature only work for DV?
