AVI Stutters during playback from CD

I've been trying to playback a multimedia CD I've burned using the NTSC DV codec in VV4 and it will finish the CD, but then the CD won't playback smoothly. Any suggestions out there? Will a AVI that size just not play back? I've been playing around with custom settings, but havn't found anything that will look decent, playback, and fit on a CD.

To sustain DV .avi playback the drive has to be capable of reading almost 4MB/second. This is about a 25x read speed. Very few drives can sustain this rate over the long haul. Even a 48x drive is probably going to average 20x or less, possibly much less.

Have you tried MPEG or WMV at 3Kbps encoding rates? The results are usually quite good.

Thanks. I'm giving WMV a try right now. I guess I didn't want to give Bill Gates the satisfaction.
