Avi to Mpeg2

How do I render an Avi file to Mpeg2 in Vegas 4? I can't seem to find any reference to it in the manual? I am told that it is far better to let Vegas do it, rather than a DVD authoring programme. Thanks for any replies.

Just put the clip in the timeline, go under File > Render As > Then select MPEG-2 and select any options or bitrates you want.
