fullsoundrecording wrote on 6/13/2008, 11:00 AM
I have a AVI video with audio i drop into 9.0d and it plays the audio but no video file. No frames not even a window for it just the wave window for audio. I drop the same file into sioundforge and it shows and plays the video and audio just fine. It as well plays in windows media player. I have re-installed the Vegas and still no luck. The video is 24 bit and 192 MP3 audio. any ideas?

What was the source of the video? Chances are it is in a codec that you do not have loaded on your computer. The common non-installed codecs are MJPEG and DIVX. If this is from a small camcorder that is normally a still camera, then chances are it is an MJPEG codec.

Awwww ha!! it says in propertys of the file it is DivX codec.

So how do i resolve this?

Thanks so much for the fast reply.
It was a vob file i decoded with a AVS video decoder and turned into a avi.

Well i re did the avs and selected no video compression, and its all good. I just missed that, :)) I am a audio guy and have used this vegas all of a few times. Now quisten would be to use the mp3 192 or pcm audio..

PCM audio is going to better quality. Normally, it is uncompressed.
