Avid DNxHD codec Config settings

RodC wrote on 5/26/2010, 10:14 AM
Im using DNxHD for an intermediate codec and I was hoping someone could give me some suggested settings.

Here is what I used for the last test:
Color Levels: 709
Alpha: Nothing selected

Drop down box that I cant really tell what the label is: (I wish they would fix this config dialog box!)
1080p/29.976 DNxHD 175-8bit

Most of the source video is captured from a Canon HV30 some projects shot at HDV 1080-60i (1440x1080, 29.970 fps) others at 30p.

Color levels should be RGB
Size should be 1920x1080
Pixel aspect 1:1
Field order Upper (you may want to try progressive to see if it makes a difference)
DNxHD-TR 175 8-bit template
Be sure to click OK (it is often hidden too)

Thin Raster is supposed to be better for compressed pixels like your 1440x1080
