Avoiding Massive Blu Ray Re-Conversion?

Hello,

I'm really new to this so forgive the elementary questions. I can capture HD content that has the following properties.

File: Name : E:\Video Raw Caps\Encode_13_1.mp4
Size : 2.099 GB
Duration : 00:18:55.49
Mux type : MP4
Video: Encoding : H.264
VideoStreamID : x202
Frame rate : 50.00 fps
Encoding size : 1280 x 720
Aspect ratio : 16:9
Header bit rate : 0.000 Mbps
VBV buffer : 0 KBytes
Profile : Baseline/3.1
Progressive : Progressive
Chroma : 4:2:0
Entropy mode : CAVLC
Bit rate : 14.206 Mbps
Audio Stream: 1 (Primary) Codec : AAC
Format : RAW
Channels : 2.0
Language : eng
PID : x201
PES Stream Id : xC0
Sampling rate : 48000

I've been told that as is it should be Blu Ray compliant in some Blu Ray programs. In Sony DVD Architect it seems that I must convert it to AVC or MPEG2. I can quickly convert it to MPEG2 using VideoReDo to the following which I thought would match one of the profiles in DVD Architect:

File: Name : E:\video Raw Caps\Encode_14_6 (02).mpg
Size : 0.020 GB
Duration : 00:00:11.49
Mux type : PS - MPEG2
Video: Encoding : MPEG2
VideoStreamID : xE0
Frame rate : 50.00 fps
Encoding size : 1280 x 720
Aspect ratio : 16:9
Header bit rate : 21.465 Mbps
VBV buffer : 896 KBytes
Profile : Main@1440
Progressive : Progressive Only
Chroma : 4:2:0
Bit rate : 13.827 Mbps
Field order : Progressive
Audio Stream: 1 (Primary) Codec : MPEG
MPEGLayer : Layer 2
Channels : 2.0
PES Stream Id : xC0
Bit rate : 256 Kbps
Sampling rate : 48000
Sample size : 16 bits

However, DVD Architect still wants to covert the video. Any suggestions most welcome. I can change many parameters in VideoReDo to generate the MPG.

In DVDArchitect I selected as the profile MPEG2, Bit Rate 40,000, 16:9, 1280x720, 50.0000 Progressive. I tried to lower the bit rate to 13,827 and the conversion gave this:

File: Name : G:\video\Untitled.iso
Size : 0.020 GB
Duration : 00:00:11.47
Mux type : M2TS Stream
TS mux rate : 9.473 Mbps
Video: Encoding : MPEG2
VideoStreamID : x1011
Frame rate : 50.00 fps
Encoding size : 1280 x 720
Aspect ratio : 16:9
Header bit rate : 14.000 Mbps
VBV buffer : 678 KBytes
Profile : Main@High
Progressive : Progressive Only
Chroma : 4:2:0
Bit rate : 13.754 Mbps
Field order : Progressive
Audio Stream: 1 (Primary) Codec : AC3
Channels : 2.0
PID : x1100
PES Stream Id : xBD
Bit rate : 448 Kbps
Sampling rate : 48000
Sample size : 16 bits

This conversion was pretty quick. Am I on the right track?

Thanks!
Peter

Well, no as answer to the OP. You wish to work with DVD architect Pro? Then you are better off to use VegasPro to render the project video to an intermediate level of stream (those would be seperate audio and video) which are compatible with DVDApro. This is the most useful and easiest workflow to accomplish.

You can do other things, but you will be wasting your time..choose the easiest route that has been designed into the software.

videolTguy,

Would Sony Movie Studio 13 Suite or Platium, produce a compatible Bluray render, which DVDAPro would not re-render?

I ask that, as Movie Studio would be a less expensive workflow alternative to Vegas Pro, if the OP does have Vegas Pro, and would prefer not to invest in it at this time.

If so, the OP may want to download the Movie Studio 13 Platium trial version to test and determine if they would prefer that workflow. Just a thought, please correct me if I'm wrong or going the wrong direction.
