Awards show 'bumpers' ???

I need to build something to be used in an award banquet that will display the names of recipients and what award they've won. The final product will be projected from a laptop. I know I can accomplish this in Flash, but I was wondering what it is that real awards shows use to accomplish this and if their is a consumer/prosumer option.

Thanks.

You can do this any way you want. Your only limit is your imagination - and whatever the awards producer tells you to do :-)
It can be as simple as a glamour shot of the award with the names/titles keyed over top of it. Feel free to add glints/glows/highlights, etc. as desired. You'll find that Vegas can do most of these effects fairly easily.

shockwave, flash, power point, etc. sounds like a good idea. With anoy of those you could set it up so a mouse click/key hit will goto the nextframe (which could be black to show nothing).

I did a similar event last year using Vegas 4 placing markers all the way down the timeline and was able to live synch with the presenters without a single hiccup. The show had a mix of still images with no accurate duration, video clips, nominees, and winners [who were announced live, I had no idea who winner was ahead of time]. The whole show ran off my system behind stage and was output to rear projection screens and HD monitors.
Good Luck!
