Mmh, let me think about it for a while ... ;-)

Maybe - there is a proposal for an improvement for the 3D-pack:
I noticed using the 3D-pack with imported pics which are oversized - more than PAL oder NTSC size - would always resize the picture down to PAL or NTSC size.
I think it would be VERY valuable if the 3D-pack would handle the original size exactly the way the buildin Pan/Crop-FX does it. This would enable us to have zooms and pans over pics with the 3D-pack without losing any quality till it reaches a certain zoom or pan factor.

What d'ya think about it?

Glad to hear you had a great vacation. Meanwhile we've been rendering up a storm with your now-famous plugins (the missing half of Vegas!).

If you have time, here's a couple minute video I did using 3DLe heavily:

Opening to my latest family DVD

Hey, if you don't have the time, that's Okay too. Thanks for what you've added to Vegas!

Hey Satish, glad your vacation was enjoyed.

I wondered outloud in a thread recently if you could put together an "export still image sequence" plugin. Something that exports each frame of video as a TIFF, Targa, or BMP with ascending numerical file names. Obviously, this would differ from other plugins in that it has to write to the hard drive, but I wonder if it's possible? Vegas has long needed this function.

Besides that, something cool and relativly simple would be a camera shake plug-in. We can currently get random vertical movement using the film effects plug-in, but camera shake needs to jump randomly in every direction. Right now the only way to do it is to manually set each keyframe inside track motion or pan/crop. Any love?

That is so cool!!!! Is the music from ACID?

Re: "is the music from Acid?" Yes, and thanks. just wish I could afford more loops. Great program to play with!

Hi, Staish. Welcome back.

I like Taliesin's Pan/Crop - Sizing idea. Sounds quite useful.

As far as Camera Shake, well, I have way too much of that, already. How about something like Pinnacle's Pro One V2, Image Stabilizer, where you can pick an object with a hard edge and it will track and control angles and pan/crop to make it stable? Or, like www.dynapel.com SteadyHand, or BOTH, now that would be something, a cross between them for when there is no hard edge.

Dynapel has said they would port it if there was enough request, but so far no one seems to have convinced them except Premire (UGH!).

Would it be possible to have a wrap video around objects plug-in?
Or adjustable light and bevel for 3d text?

Just wishing here.
Hope you had a wonderful vacation.
I am really enjoying your plug-ins.

Hi Satish-

There was a contest and many contestants used your plugins.

Looks good. :) thanks for the link.

Vegas resizes the input video/frame to the project dimensions (or however event pan/crop is configured) before giving to the plugins, so my plugins cannot really know the actual size of the input image/video. All this can be done if the plugins can get integrated to SoFo at some level, but that is a far cry and defeats the purpose of being a "plug-in". :)

You probably dont need to be told this---someone got some screen shots of Vegas 4.0---so that has been a hot topic around here---I figure you know what 4.0 will have---so I dont have to say anything about you developing a plug-in that has already been developed (ie. color correction) From reading between the lines, I think that 4.0 will also have a DVD authoring system, support for EDL's, better media management, faster scrubbing, etc----Satish---your plug-ins have been very useful over the last three weeks---amazing stuff---Welcome back!

Satish, welcome back !!!

Well, if you can spare some minutes (may I say weeks), I would like to ressuscite this thread ( http://www.sonicfoundry.com/Forums/ShowMessage.asp?ForumID=4&MessageID=140899 ), where you gave us the hope of creating the BREAKTHROUGH NEW ADDITION , which is the 3rd-party plug-in manager for Vegas.

Cheers !

I know christmas has gone, but an easy way to cut and paste from a word doc to a page/scroll titler so all the formating remains. Or a plug that allows you to play a powerpoint presentation into a video.

TIA

How about border softness on the already existing plugin
roger_74 wrote on 1/7/2003, 4:44 PM
Something that would be absolutely great would be a plugin that could import X and Y coordinates from a text file, and then apply those coordinates on Event Pan/Crop or Track Motion for each keyframe.

This would enable us to use motiontracking in Commotion or similar products, and export those coordinates to Vegas for easier editing.

The raw data could look like this:

(frame) (X) (Y)

1 245.500 128.250
2 246.398 128.578
3 246.225 128.428
4 246.194 128.294
5 245.753 128.056
6 245.347 127.791
7 245.100 127.637
8 244.903 127.653
9 244.700 127.719
