simply use the color correction plug in supplied in vegas. put the identical video on another track while masking out the part that you don't want changed. Thats one way to get it done i would think

The tool you want is the secondary color corrector.

This allows you to select a color or color range and then adjust the color for that range.

This will be easy to do as long as your subject is not wearing colors similiar to the background.

You could also use difference masking. Dave Hadden (FridgidNDEditing) has a great tutorial up on VASST.
