background color

I want to change the default BG color behind a video.

Right now, when it is displaying there is a black ribbon above and below it. I would like it to be white behind the video without having to do an INSERT GENERATED MEDIA>SONY SOLID COLOR on a separate track behind the video.

options>preferences>video: Background color give you a choice of black or white.

But this affects only the preview screen.

Hi Tog, I might have misunderstood the original query. Apart from that, I don't think VMS has a separate background color effect.
