Background Menu Music

I have successfully placed background music over a menu in the past but after some time away from Architect I am now having troubles. I have placed a button on the menu through <<Insert - Music/Video Compilation>> then tried to drag & drop a music track from a CD accessed through the Explorer panel direct into the button area. Although I have used the CD before, Architect advises the file format (*.cda) is unknown. Am I doing something wrong?

You'll need to rip the song from the CD before you can use it in Premiere Elements.

Ripping from the CD will save the file as an MP3 or, even better, a WAV file. But, more importantly, it copies the song from the CD. If you don't do this, the program will lose the connection to the song as soon as you remove the CD!

Sony Movie Studio has a tool for ripping music from a CD. And so do Windows Media Player and iTunes.

Thanks Steve. I've ripped the track as suggested and had success.
