Backing Up with SF .wav64 files

I have been doing some heavy backing up of files to get ready to replace my audio hard drive. When I do a Save As for each song and save to a separate folder on my other drive, the sound files are saved as SF .wav64 files, not regular .wav files. Will this cause any problems for me later in trying to restore them on my new hard drive and then accessing them from my .veg files? Anything I need to be aware of?

Thanks.

.w64 files are SF's version of .wav files. They are identical in format, except that they use 64 bit addresses for the chunks instead of 32 bit. What this means is that the length limit is measured in centuries instead of in hours. From a practical standpoint for your question though, don't worry about it if you're still going to be using SF's software. All their programs can open and use .w64 files.

If you ever need to use those files in other software, you can open them in Vegas/Forge/whatever and save them as standard .wav files again.
