Bad angle day

I have a 20 minute edited video for a client showing nesting birds. I have generated a second track which is zoomed in, showing some detail. I have added this as a second angle so that he is able to change between normal and zoomed version at will. All is well and the preview shows the main track and I am able to alternate between that and the zoomed version as expected.
However when I try and generate a DVD, it seems to compete the rendering and compiling phase but then says 'Unknown error writing to file'.
I can compile and blow a DVD fine without the alternative 'angle' track, so the rest of my system is still functional. DVDA reports total file size (with the alternate angle track) to be just over 2G, so there is no DVD space issue.
Can anyone suggest what else may be the problem? Thanks.

If you've edited this video in Vegas and output a DVD-compatible MPEG from Vegas for DVD Architect, there's really no reason one segment will work and other won't. It certainly wouldn't affect whether or not your DVD will burn. There must be something else going on.

Have you ensured that your DVD discs are compatible with your burner? You'd be surprised how many people try to burn DVD+R discs in a DVD-R burner.

I can produce a DVD (R-W) if I remove the angle track from the DVDA timeline, so I do not think anything else on my system is a problem.
My alternative track is the full length of the main video. Could this be an issue? All the examples in the help files show smaller length angle tracks. I will try this this evening but have no other ideas. My only option at the moment is to give my client a menu option of the original or the zoomed in version.
Any other suggestions are welcomed.

I guess I'm not understanding what an "angle track" is.

But, as I've said, f you've done your editing in Vegas and output the video as a single clip from Vegas, DVD Architect should treat it all as one clip and there shouldn't be an issue.

Does this thread help?

I guess I'm not understanding what an "angle track" is.

DVDA Pro has the capability to add alternate tracks for video. Similar to alternate audio / language tracks where you can switch between one version and another. While watching the DVD, the viewer can hit the Angle button on his remote to switch between those video tracks.

The main difference is that with alternate audio tracks, you bring in a file for the entire length of the media item. For alternate video tracks, you can bring in multiple video clips and spread them out where where needed on the timeline. DVDA then combines the two (main video and alternate video(s) to create a new full-length video. For this reason, it's best to bring in AVI files when working with alternate video tracks.

I am about to give up with an alternative angle track.
I am still unable to get DVDA (V5b) to complete and blow a DVD RW. I can select a 2 minute section and that completes OK. However when I try and blow the full 20 minutes, it does not happen.
I am delivering the product this week and am going to have to provide two options on the start menu...much less professional than I had planned.
Advice and links kindly provided, seem to be conflicting and confusing. I am in the UK so am using PAL. There appear to be no remaining reported issues with angles. I may submit a ticket.
If anyone can suggest other things I can try this week, I would be grateful.
Thanks.
