Bad Capture Quality with Sony DCR TRV460, HELP

early on with studio 9 this cam worked great. Then I got Vegas and the capture video sucks. Has a banding look and or block look with any motion. If I import with studio 9 and then edit with vegas its great. What gives? Sony has been no help.

How are you capturing this video into Vegas? Via firewire? If you are using firewire (which you shoulde be) then you should be getting a direct copy of the DV directly from the tape (that is a bit-for-bit copy).
