Bad DVD's?

I'm having problems with some DVD's and I don't remember having the problem previously. This current stock I'm trying to use are printable, that is, they've got the paper-like surface you can print on if you've got the right kind of printer. It doesn't matter what speed I burn the discs at, the discs can't be read in the computer after they're done. They work in my DVD player in my living room, but I gave one disc to a client and he couldn't get it to work at all. Then I tried other discs, more plain discs, I can burn at any speed and they work fine afterwards. I burned the exact same project to both style discs.

has anyone else run into this? And, does anyone know what I can do about it?

What's the brand, and if you can find it, what's the media ID on the disk?

Some brands are simply crap. The other possibility is you got a bad batch, which can happen.

Printable probably has nothing to do with it - I use Taiyo Yuden inkjet printable and very rarely have problems.
