Bad print to tape

Hey all,

If I view an AVI render on the computer, it looks fine. But when I print to tape, I get some audio drop out and video "glitches" and jitters on occasion. I've been searching the forum, and I think I've found my problem - My firewire card is on IRQ 9 with my USB and Ensoniq Audio PCI. I don't really know how IRQs work, so is this bad? If so, is there any way to change it other than mixing the cards around until the firewire gets its own IRQ?

Also, there was another post where it was suggested to use ctrl+alt+del to open the task manager. When I do this, I just get a close program window, and can't figure out how to get the task manager opened. I'm running 98SE, which may be the problem.

Thanks for the help.

Win98SE doesn't have a task manager like Win2k, XP.

DMA enabled on your hard drives (use Device Manager)?

Hard drives defragemented?

Motherboard using a VIA chipset?
