I'd love to help, but I'm not clear on your question. You can easily add an audio track to your timeline in Vegas, and put any audio file(s) you want on it. Is that what you're asking? No special plug-in is needed for that.

Thanks for the reply, I'll try and be a little more clear.
In the program I'm using now (Studio 8), it has a plugin called Smart Sound.
Smart Sound has pre-composed music of different types that can be added to either the second or third sound tracks by clicking on selecting the clip for the added music and then clicking on add to movie. These audio files are Royalty free, a real plus.
I was wondering if Vegas had a similar plugin or is Acid or Sound Forge used for these kinds of applications?

I guess the key words here are (Royalty Free). The music can be used at any desired length by simply stretching it in the timeline. One can make a music clip from 15 seconds or 30 minutes. What ever is need is.

You will need to look at Acid for royality free music. However, Acid is a loop based program and the royality free music (which you purchase separately) is primarily loops and one-shots. You will need to "compose" the music for your video productions from the various loops (and of course create your own loops) and then import it into Vegas as wav files. Many commcercials and soundtracks have been created using Acid in this way. That being said, no Vegas doesn't have the feature you described as in Studio 8.

Much appreciated.

Ahhhh, much clearer. No, Vegas doesn't have a library of music like that. As drbam suggested, you can compose your own with Acid. Another alternative is www.freeplaymusic.com . There are some royalty-free tunes there that you might download and use.

Good luck,

But you could use that Studio 8 music, and save it into a folder and place it in Vegas.

Re: freeplaymusic.com...Be careful of the fine print. Their music is only Royalty free if used for your own private use. If using their music on disks for sale, they are not free.

They charge a minium of $50 US per song. I tape, edit, and burn to DVD kids soccer games. The parents love then and are quite ready to spend a few dollars for their child’s stardom in sports. I set these movies to aggressive sports type Rock n' Roll. Freemusic.com's music averages 2 minutes each, so if I need forty minutes of music (about 20 songs) that will cost me a cool $1000 for the license to be able to use those songs 1000 times each. I only need to use the songs maybe 20 times each. Too rich for me.

I just found that Smart Sound @ http:www.smartsound.com has a program called SmartSound Sonicfire Pro that I can use for these types of audio files and import into Vegas. And the best part is they are Royalty Free.

Does this BB support UBB?

@Rednroll

That's an idea. Soon as I receive my copy of Vegas+DVD and get installed, I'll give it a go.
