Basic 3D Compositing in Vegas Pro

Here's an example of basic 3D compositing in Vegas Pro. Of course, I still have some tweaking to do, but this is taking an animated 3D character and compositing him into a video using Vegas Pro alone. I can use a combination of Track Motion and Pan Crop to place him in the scene, then so far, use this chain to blend him in:

Layer Dimensionality, Chroma Blur, Color Corrector, Color Curves, and Defocus.

Looks great. How did you design the model?

I'd ditch the shadow unless you plan on modeling the background as well so you can get a shadow that deforms over the geometry of the background, it looks like the figure is in front of a flat image otherwise. Also, maybe experiment with using Vegas' motion tracking on your model? Try it again with a shaky handheld shot for good practice.
