Basic "pull out", "edit", and "put back in" operation (export/import?)

I want to take a portion of my video clip, save/render it to some format. Import into Sytheyes to obtain tracking data, and then edit the clip from there.

Basically, "pull a part out" and then "bring the edited part back in".

I normally use the Mocha Pro plugin for any tracking, but this portion of the clip is very complex and there is no Syntheyes plugin that I am aware of for Vegas.

Thank you.

Split around the section you want to export, create a selection area around that section, File - Render As and render that section to a file. Use that newly rendered file in your other application and render to a file. Now delete that section in VEGAS and bring in the rendered file back into VEGAS.

If you don't want the first render, can't your other application take the original source file?

So I ended up just opening the original source file in Syntheyes.

I guess the original question is answered, but now I need to figure out how to actually do something with it because all I know is Mocha Pro.
