Batch Render Script Question

Hello,
I'm still learning lots about Vegas Pro 8 and DVDA, having moved over from Pinnacle, so please bear with me ..... !!!

If I use "Render As" and run it twice (MPEG2 with DVDA NTSC template, and Dolby Digital) giving the same project base name then when I get into DVDA and import the video file, DVDA automatically picks up the audio file with the same base name.

However, if I use the Batch Render script to run the same 2 renders sequentially, even though I give the same base name to the Batch Render script, this script appends the render type to the base name so that I end up with 2 different filenames and hence DVDA does not automatically pick up the audio file.

Is there an easy way to modify the Batch Render script so that it doesn't change the base filename?

Many thanks in advance,
Gary

If you understand a little programing you could modify the script or you could just download DVD Prep from VASST. It's part of the VASST Freeware collection and it does exactly what you're looking for. (this is why I wrote it... I got tired of the same thing) ;-)

JR. I've noticed that when you render an mpeg2 for a standard definition DVD from a HD Vegas timeline, the resulting 720x480 render is pillarboxed ever so slightly. A better fit is a 704x480 mpeg2 render, so that's what I usually do. Because of this I rarely use your DVD Prep anymore even though I would really like to and like everything else about it,

I know it's an incredibly small detail but boy would I like to see a 704x480 option from DVD Prep.
