Batch Rendering in Vegas

Still learning Vegas. Need some help here. Obviously I'm doing something wrong.

I was just messing around, trying to learn Vegas a little more, so I tried batch rendering four .mts files on the Vegas timeline. I thought I read somewhere how to do it, and from what (I thought) I remembered......I had set each clip up with a region, go to tools, scripting, batch render, I chose AVI Sony YUV as an intermediate, render regions, choose where I want it to go, and started rendering.

What I got was all four clips rendered together as one, and it did it four times. I didn't name each region prior to the render, does that have an effect? If anyone can help me out here, I would appreciate it. I (obviously) don't use intermediates all the time, but I would like to know how to do this just in case. Sorry ahead of time if I'm leaving out some vital information.

Thanks,
-Brad

batch render does two things:
1) renders a file to EACH codec/setting you check.
2) renders the area you have selected, the whole file, or EACH region of you choose regions.

Naming doesn't effect the ability to render regions, but if you have 4 checkboxes checked then it would render 4 files.

Have a look to Proxy Stream to batch convert files.

Rosebud...thanks man!

Ok, forgive my early ignorance here....

I downloaded the .zip file. What now? I need to learn how to get these programs into Vegas and working properly.

Thanks for the help guys, I really appreciate it.

Unzip the file into:
C:\Program Files\Sony\Vegas Pro 8.0\Script Menu

To run the script:
Menu Tools > Scripting > Proxy Stream

VP8.0c needed.

Depending on how much you need batch rendering, you may want to take a look at http://www.peachrock.com/software/VeggieToolkit2/veggie-toolkit.htmlVeggie Toolkit[/link]. It may seem like overkill, but I use this every time I complete a project. Clients are amazed when I produce iPod/iPhone ready versions of their videos, HD file versions of split up timeline portions, and they wonder how I do all of that in such a short time. I set up the Toolkit parameters before I go to sleep, and in the morning they're all there on my hard drive ready to burn.
