Batch video conversion avi to wmv

help!

This forum has yet to let me down so I hope you can help with this situation.
I have about 40 avi video clips that need to be converted to wmv (for web site). I found several apps that will do the conversion but it's usually via graphical interface and requires I do them one by one. Is there any way to get Vegas (or any other app) that will simply use wild cards and batch convert. Something preferably on a command line like c:> convert *.avi *.wmv where I can type the command and just let it run in the background.

As always, I appreciate everyone's help!

The next version of my Batchrender Pro script for Vegas would help you, but the version available for download right now only batch renders .veg-files. Sorry.

Sonys own Batch Converter could do it, but I think it only converts to WM8, not WM9.

There was a Batch Converter program that came with Vegas 3 that works very well, if you happen to have that you can find it on the install disc. It used to be in the dowloads section on the Sony/sofo site but I think they took it down. Another option would be to pick up a copy of Procoder Express, you can set it up to do hundreds of files, hit start and it will go through and do all of them in a row without you having to do anything.
