BCC Match Move loosing track

Martin L wrote on 11/16/2016, 7:55 AM

I use BCC Match Move and sometimes if works fine, but often it loses track. According to J Rofrano's video tutorial it can be fixed by returning to the last good frame, clearing the render cache and continuing tracking from there. That never works for me.

I have read the BCC manual för Match Move for Vegas Pro, which says one can manually adjust the tracking by keyframing the tracker. But I just can't figure out how. It just doesn't seem to work. I have read it over and over, and failed. It is not explicit enough, or clear enough for a Swede like me with an obviously too limited knowledge in English. I have searched for better tutorials on the internet but can't find any.

Does anybody know of any other tutorial? Video or written.

One thing I can't understand is why there are two crosshairs in the preview display. One is the trackers position. But what is the other?

How do you "force" the tracker to stick to an object on those frames where the track-on-the-fly looses track?

With hopes of succeeding one day...

Martin

When your Dutch is as good as your English and the problem of loosing track is nearly the same in Hitfilm Express as in BCC, you could watch my instruction video, where I use tracking that looses the track sometimes plus how to fix it.
For instance by processing frame after frame.

Martin do you have a sample clip? I'd love to help. I've got a really good technique I just need a sample clip to show it with.

Sure! I sent it to you now in a message. Much appreciated!

Martin,

Here's my technique:

That's really great. Thanks William!  I have BCC 8 but not Mocha. So I guess I have to get hold of that. Is that  some particular version of it you used in the video, together with VEgas and BCC?

Martin L wrote on 11/21/2016, 2:13 AM

Sorry, it is BCC 9 that I have. (BCC 9 for Sony) Wil lthat work with Mocha?

WilliamW wrote on 11/21/2016, 7:40 AM

Do you have witness protection plugin? That plugin allows you to use mocha - which I then use to export the tracking data for match motion.

Martin L wrote on 11/21/2016, 7:43 AM

Yes, I have witness protection. But not Mocha...

WilliamW wrote on 11/21/2016, 7:56 AM

When you launch witness protection do you have the "Launch Mocha" button? I personally don't own mocha - I saw that BCC uses it with witness protection then found the export button hence this technique.

No, there is no "launch Mocha" button there, as I saw you have in yours. You probably have BCC 10? Mocha is included in that version but not in 9.
