BCC Ripple Effect How To Make In Vegas?

AnkarosEdits21 wrote on 2/8/2026, 6:35 AM

Ok, so I've been meaning to ask, so for tiktok style edits. People on after effects use BCC Ripple for transitions, like they take an adjustment layer and put it on etc. So I guess I Vegas Pro since it's in the transition list we gotta put it on the clip or something, like I tried to put it on an adjustment event. But it always fade in from black with it. And that's one effect I liked using a lot when I did after effects for 2 months with some much it gave like a pulse effect before the edit itself. Video example from after effects I made when I did After Effects for 2 months, Above.

Is there a way to do this with an adjustment event? Cause I did try it with the overlap transition but with the zooms and stuff with the beat it didn't look good.

Any help would be appreciated. 🙏

@AnkarosEdits21

  • Add a track above your timeline events,
  • Crossfade your two events,
  • Double click the crossfade so it creates a Region,
  • In the track above right click 'Insert Adjustment Event',
  • Add the Ripple fx to the Adjustment event,
  • Fade in & out the Adjustment event.

PS.

So I guess I Vegas Pro since it's in the transition list

BCC Ripple is also a regular fx which can be added wherever you like, added to an adjustment event & faded in as I did or keyframed to bring in & out the ripple ...

Have you looked at the BCC Ripple Dissolve transition rather than the BCC Ripple effect?

Hello, thanks, though I was talking about the ripple dissolve one. That was my bad if I didn't mention it. Also I see you use 23, I would be using it but when I dragged in a rendered Topaz MOV video there was a huge black edge on it for some reason. But anyways. Back to the effect question. Lol.

Yeah I tried the BCC Ripple dissolve Effect. When I did it faded in from black on the adjustment event layer. I can make an example later this morning.

Ripple Dissolve transition can't be added to an adjustment layer, as far as I know (except if you apply as a transition to two adjustment events)

@AnkarosEdits21 I don't have BCC. However, for Transition FX, you can place them between 2 adjustment events, just like those between common events. You can give it a try.

Oops thought it looked like 23 for some reason my bad. I might try and give it a go with your settings for that BCC Ripple.

@AnkarosEdits21 Use the Pct. Done option & keyframe it on the Adjustment event.

I think I done that once and it still fade in from black. I mean it would be nice to use for some edits make though. The ripple dissolve I wished it was in the Effects tab.

Yeah, I know. If I can make a custom Glitchify effect in Vegas a ripple dissolve effect shouldn't be a problem.

Yes. BCC Ripple Dissolve is BCC Ripple made into a transition with some added transition controls. By adding BCC Ripple to an Adjustment event you're creating the 'dissolve' part yourself.
