BCC Stabilizer - long black lead in after render

I experimented with the BCC Optical stabilizer based on a suggestion in another post that the best way was to take the clip I wanted stabilizing on its own into a new project, stabilize it, render it out and then import the rendered version back into the main project.

This seemed to work fine EXCEPT that the render recorded an period, several seconds, of black at the front of the clip, so I then had to trim the rendered clip before using it. After the first attempts I wondered if, even though I'd marked just the section of the clip for rendering and had selected the "Render marked segment only" it was rendering from the start of the timeline. I tried butting the clip up the the start but still get the same problem.

Any ideas?

Must be in the settings of the plugin. Just tried it and had no blank lead frames. I saw this once when I used scaling and had a section of the video where the first frames had a subject that was black and image filled the frame much more than other subjects - I got just a black area which was an enlargement of the first subject that filled the frame.
