Hello all. First post here. Cool scene.
Two weeks into Vegas and loving it. Many hours spent trying to get it all 100%. It happened about 2am this morning. ; )
VidCap 2.5 print-to-tape has the audio synch. delay problem here also. It's about 1/2 sec. in the 8 min. zone. Double that at 16 min. into your project. I haven't been able to get a signal out OHCI with VidCap 2.0. Tried different offset adjustments, just does full screen on PC monitor. VC 2.5 also doesn't like my dual screen setup. Corrupts the lower half of my main PC screen on a Geforce II mx with YC/svhs output. Works fine in single monitor mode, except that audio synch. problem in print-to-tape.
Pinnacle Studio DV will print-to-tape your Vegas Rendered Project in perfect synch. The trick is setting up Vegas for *open DML* in custom render settings, and "UN-Checking" the *strictly conform to AVI type II files* in options/prefs. I rendered out a 25:41;17 project. Loaded first AVI that was 3.99 gig, then the 1.46 gig auto sequence file (Windows ME here). Now it gets good. It's a 25:40;00 project in Studio DV. Yep, 77 frames gone. Just about perfect for how far off the audio would be delayed in VidCap 2.5. Weird, but it works. Video plays perfect, not a glitch to be seen or heard. Motion clips with music track for full 25 min. with my "hammer to workbench" 2 min. synch. clip in a few spots. Avi files stack up perfect back to back. Studio has a really cool feature in print mode also. You can scrub the timeline on pc display, then play out to OHCI from any point. All Clips were captured in VC 2.5 with pref. capture setting "checked" *Strictly conform to AVI type II format*
I'm running Studio DV 1.26 rev. 2 beta. All Pinnacle DV codecs removed. Vegas 2.0g Video Factory 2.0demo
System is Compaq P4 1.3ghz/128/Geforce II mx/Windows ME/ 17" SVGA/ 30 & 60 gig ata100 7200rpm HDs/13" composite monitor for 640x480 second display.
I've used Studio to produce a 1 1/2 hour program. It printed-to-tape perfect over and over. This is looking like a great combo.
Render times for a cross fade is 4-5 sec. per 30 frames. Straight file transfers from HD to HD is solid 16MBsec. Frame rate on straight clip full screen preview skips about every two seconds. Near perfect in draft mode. I really dig the "recompress" setting for the OHCI output. Great for setting up CG/Graphics/Filters/ect. Getting good still frame results by capturing from tape at 360x240 in VidCap 2.5. Sony D8 works silky smooth with VidCaps new interface. Yes, the new "old movie" filter kicks some serious booty. So does the CG, but once I use it in Vegas, I can't go back and edit the media.
Good stuff Sonic Foundry. Thanks.
Cheers all,
