After you arm a track, click on the inport button on the track and
then select left or right.

I don't follow you I guess. What do you mean split the signal?

As far as montoring....

Use either the Gina or mixer for monitoring, not both. This is what
is causing the flanging. Even though the Gina can monitor inputs to
its outputs, there is a delay (1- 3ms) associated with the A/D
converts that will cause this flanging.

If your source is going to the mixer, then monitor the input through
the mixer. If you want to monitor through the Gina, then you have to
kill the monitor mix through the Behringer.

I just looked at the block diagram of the MX802A. One aux is pre
fader the other is post. This makes it tough to route a stereo pair
to the Gina with out having some of the signal also go through the
MX's main bus. There is a mod discussed in the MX's manual on how to
convert the Aux 2 to pre fader on a per channel basis. Doing this mod
on one channel would allow you to have to input sources going into
the MX and then routed directly to the aux buses with out going
through the main buses. The nice part is that you will still get EQ
on the input channels.

It would be nice if there was a way to mute input channels, that way
you could A/B the input to the board and the Gina's input monitoring.
If you do the Aux mod, you can still do this, but you will have to
fade the channels to -inf inorder to A/B.

So, assuming you do the Aux Mod on Channel 2:

Aux Send 1 : Gina in l
Aux Send 2 : Gina in 2

Gina 5/6 : MX 5/6 (or what ever)

With Channel 1 and 2 main fader set to -inf, you can control the
input to the Gina using the Aux 1 and Aux 2 sends on these channels.
You would then set the Gina to Monitor inputs through 5/6 and adjust
the MX ch 5/6 for the monitor mix.

Alternatively, you could set Chan 5/6 of the MX to -inf. and set the
Chan 1 and 2 level on the MX for monitoring your source.

Do you have a patch bay? If not get one, it will make life easier for
you to deal with routing. This way you can easily re-route the MX
chan 1 and 2 inputs to what ever it is you want to record.
(Alternatively you could just make all channels treat Aux 2 as pre
fader.)

I truly appreciate your time...

i seem to be getting more confused. I thought I had atleast part of
my problem solved. Why should I not simply mute the monitors from
within the "echo console?" This gets rid of the flang/latency issue.
Are there drawbacks that I am just not thinking of?

I had gotten to a new and seemingly related problem. I have two
tracks and want to record a third while listening to the first two. I
cant seem to avoid recording the first two onto the third. Is there a
simple fix. The SF support made me overly optimistic by saying that
my sound card probably had a "record all you can hear" option that
needed to be turned off. What do you think?
