"Beijing" PDW 700 XDCAM HD compatibility

Does anyone know if Vegas Pro 8c can edit the 4:2:2 50 mps XDCAM HD files? Apparently the PDW 700 is restricted to 60i 50 mps MPEG until a firware upgrade comes out toward the end of the year. Has anyone here used Vegas 8c to edit PDW 700 mps footage (PAL or NSC)? Does the PC need extra horsepower to handle 50 mps? I've been shooting XDCAM HD HQ with my PDW 350 ever since I got it and editing with Vegas 7 and PPRO CS3.2 with no problems but CS3 will NOT accept the 4:2:2 50 mps. I'm thinking of getting a "Beijing" PDW 700 body before the price goes up but don't have the budget for the new XDCAM HD deck.

Someone else here has a PDW-700 that was talking about how they just got it, but I'm pretty sure that they were able to use it in Vegas Pro 8.

I can't say for sure, but for the life of me I can't remember his name :(.
