Belkin Hi-Speed USB DVD Creator

I have tried to capture video using this device but VF2.0 does not seem to communicate with it or may be blocked from accessing it - message " The device 'Hi-Speed USB DVD Creator' could not be opened. ... Please make sure that it is turned on ..."

Any clues as to why? I do not have this problem with Win Movie Maker. No other capture software open at the time. How does VF2.0 Capture communicate with devices like this?

Maybe it might be that USB is not recognized by VF. you have to have a firewire connection to get the resolution you need for a DVD file. USB is fine for a regular digital camera but not video.
