Bella Keyboard

All,
I've read and seen in some places that you can get a Bella 4100 DV series keyboard bundled with a set of keycaps specifically for Vegas. Does anyone have this? How is it to use? Are the keycaps colored like Bella's Pro series or are they just stickers? Are the caps Vegas 4 or 5(Is there a difference)?

Any thoughts?

Is that the new one with the shuttle control? I heard about that a couple of weeks ago and thought it would be great to have.

It does not have color keycaps, but stickers.

For the record, the stickers ($14 from B&H) work fine on a regular keyboard, too, except that they partially obscure the letters underneath.

Not a problem if you can touch-type.

You can get colored keycaps for it for an additional $60

or get it with the keycaps pre-installed, no savings on price:

After I posted I went and looked for one.

Videoguys has a the one from Bella. Black and silver with colored keys and a jog shuttle. Now if my wife would only let me spend the $175.

CompuAdds apparently has it for $131 with the Vegas keycaps. Looks like a decent price if it includes the real keys, not stickers. Does anyone know if this Internet site is okay to order from?

Jayson, take a look at this keyboard for Vegas. It's only $99.95 from VideoGuys.com!

That seems like another nice alternative, but it doesn't include the shuttle control, which is one of the things I'd like.

I was under the impression that VideoGuys included a shuttle control.

Sorry, my mistake. The page you directed me to only talks about the keyboard, but VG is selling a combo with the Vegas KB and the Shuttle Xpress. Can anyone tell me how good the Shuttle XPress is? Anyone have one?

I got that deal from the video guys but I already had a full Shuttle. With the Newtech keyboard though you may not need the extra keys, really hard to give good advice on that.
Only issue I have with the Newtech is they're not the worlds greatest keyboards from a typing point of view, the Bella maybe no better. Most PC keyboards suck, I'm typing this on a Unicomp keyboard, made in the USA, so I'm a bit biased when it comes to keyboards.

I notice the Bella KB has a bunch of keys across the top... not sure if they are that standard "Internet Keys" on modern keyboards or if they are programmable for NLE functions. Anyone know?

I have a Shuttle Xpress ,I love it. I use it with my left hand, the mouse and keyboard with the right. The 5 programmable buttons and jog/shuttle wheel are plenty for me,
The number of buttons on the regular Shuttle would have my poor clumsy left hand fumbling around "like a schoolboy on a prom date" !!!
