Benefit or Drawback: keeping old RX470 with new RTX5070ti?

Just installed an NVidia RTX5070ti in my editing/finishing desktop, replacing my older Radeon RX470.

My question is: Would I see any benefit (e.g. render speed) keeping my RX470 in there (so one could decode while the other encodes), or would use of the RX470 only slow things down?

In my initial simple testing with just the 5070ti, at most I saw it used 60% during a render, but the decode usage was tiny. (I'm guessing my older CPU will be the next main limiting factor in performance improvements, and I'll have to bite the bullet figuring out what motherboard/CPU/RAM to replace in my large case, presuming all form-factors are the same these days [*gulp*])

My guess is this card is so lightyears faster than the RX470, that putting it also in the computer would only slow things down.

Anyone have real-world experience with this, or just general opinions? 😄

Thanks @Gid -- I swear I did a quick search before posting, but missed that other one!

I was disappointed seeing PI performance tanking when my composite mode was set to anything other than source-alpha.. I was blaming it on the card but who knows. We can close this thread out I suppose.
