Best Audio Format

Hi all,

I rencently tried to create my first DVD-R from a Vegas Project. I rendered the audio to WAV (Microsoft version) and the video to MPEG-2. When I played the burned DVD in my dvd players (2 panasonic, 1 toshiba, 1 mustek ??), no problem with audio or video. I took the DVD to a friends, and the audio fades in and out until it just fades out all together. Its as though the audio track is skipping.

My guess is that this is a problem with my chosen audio format. Has anybody else had this problem, and if so, which audio format would you recomend rendering to?

1st of all, not all DVD players will play DVD Rs, + or -. So most likely, if it works well on all your players, than the problem is probably your friends player. If you render the audio to 'WAV', it's going to be converted to AC3 when you make the DVD, if you're using Vegas DVDA. So, you should render the audio to AC3 in the first place. (see all the questions I asked in the AC3 section when I 1st discovered this forum.) And render the exact same area of the timeline to mpg2 (uncheck the audio in this section) for the video, without audio. The day will come when you might want to learn how to tweak AC3 files and making them this way will help you start to understand about what AC3 is. (which is Dolby digital) AC3 is the only format that works on all DVD players, it's the DVD R that has problems.
