Best Color, Font & Size for menus???

I have found that with a moving menu background, font type, color and size have a large impact on whether or not one can even read the characters.

Consequently, what has everyone been finding a good font, color and size to use with DVDA menus?

I for one have noticed that RED does not seem to be a good color. It might be because of the color of the moving background at the time, but, anyhow, I'm sure some have found their own conclusions.

As you've already stated that all depends on the background. I recently made a DD5.1 DVD that had 33 chapters. Each chapter page had a different static background. I used black, yellow, and red where it had the most contrast. I went with a 18 pitch font. I found that yellow seems to contrast best with most, but even yellow had its moments where it was hard to see. What makes the choice even more difficult is editing on a laptop (LCD) and the final product is being seen on a CRT. I made a few coaster DVD's finding out the choice I made on the laptop wasn't the right choice for CRT. Good Luck!
