Best export quality for Youtube?

Eduard0 wrote on 8/13/2014, 12:34 PM
Hi all,

I'm trying to upload some gameplay captured using my Nvidia card but I'm not satisfied with the results. The end result on Youtube always looks rather pixelated and distorted.

Input from Nvidia card is 60fps, 50Mbps, H.264
I'm lost in export formats, checkboxes, bitrates and settings. I can't seem to get it to work properly.

So my question: What is the best export format / settings for Youtube?

Cheers Eduardo

Post your captured media properties using MediaInfo.
Post your Project, Preview, and Render properties in Vegas.

Set for 24Mbps average instead of 12.
My guess is, when capturing gameplay with explosions, the 45.6Mbps bitrate isn't enough and then there's the saying "you can't make silk out of a pig's ear".

Right-click on each video event and turn Resampling OFF.
Might make a big difference.

Remember that Youtube re-encodes your video to about 3 Mbps or whatever. Your motion detail scenes may not work well at all.
