Amateur 8.0c user now trying a 25 min SD widescreen project for a group golf trip. Will have mix of decent quality photos and "HD" vids from my Pany ZS3.
I do downsize the JPEGs to help the render, but have been burned before on stability (vs my old V7) for larger projects so just tried a new approach:
* did four appx. 3 min partial renders for a 17 min vacation vid
* used .WMV with the HD 6MB setting
* put them on the timeline with the last 5 minutes for the final overall render, which worked fine.
* on my older system, ran 4:30 for the HD WMV and 50 minutes for the standard DVD format. Does that seem the proper ratio?
Source material for this test wasn't that good so not sure of the amount of quality loss by multiple renders. But I have seen some posts about rendering segments using the MXF setting.
The context is bit technical for me so is there a "preferred" method for doing bite sized chunks on a project like mine?
Thanks.
