Best FX Plugins for Studio quality Voice output?

When you create a new Audio Track in Sony Vegas Pro there are three default track FX that are automatically assigned:

Track Noise Gate

Track EQ

Track Compressor

I'm currently using a decent mic directly into my new laptop, it is called the Blue Yeti microphone.

My question is: What other audio track FX (default or free) should I enable in order to get that deep, radio quality tone output? I realize my actual voice plays a part in that and I do have a deep tone. Just not sure which audio track FX work best to get that desired output. Essentially I want the audio quality to sound very high quality like those on the Radio, etc.

Thanks!

Vegas

Personally I don't used any of those 'default' plugs and remove them from default upon installation. Getting top-shelf VOs primarily requires top shelf talent.. that's why they make the big bucks. A good mic, high quality preamp and appropriate room are also needed. That said, I'll usually use HP & LP filters, dynamic EQ, with conservative ratios and thresholds, topped off by a brick wall limiter (not to be confused with a maximizer) to gently clip uppermost peaks. You could also try a multiband exciter. Less is more in any case.

Awesome! Could you direct me to which plugins in Sony accomplish the ones you proposed? HP, LP, etc.

None are directly from Sony. The 'mastering exciter' comes from iZotope as does the mutiband compressor/EQ. The filters I like are from Plug-in Alliance, though the Sony Track EQ is decent. I currently like the Tokyo Dawn Limiter No. 6, which has six stages (it's rather complex to set-up though and would not be very good for a non-audio folks).

Izotope Nectar, probably would be what you need... or if you need something more maybe Ozone or Ozone Advanced
