Best Laptop for Vegas 5?

I have to have a laptop to use for my video editing with Vegas 5. Am shopping now for a replacement for my Dell 8600 that I have with a 60 GB (7200 rpm) harddrive, using a firewire to connect with my LaCie 7200 rpm external harddrive. I have 2 GB RAM now.

What can I replace this with (it's getting temperamental) at the current moment? (NO MACS).

If I have good RAM can I get by with the "stock" 5400 RPM drives that most 'off the shelf" dealers have?

I'm Xing out Dell at the moment...had a bad experience with one I just sent back.

Toshiba?

Hope to get some good feedback to help me with...Thanks...

The nice thing about Vegas is is is pretty much hardware neutral. Unless you've got an oddball piece of hardware or something going flakey, you are pretty much assured Vegas will run. From what you posted in your specs, you are good to go as far as I can see for a laptop. I run it on a Dell D400 with a Centrino 1.8 and 2GB ram with a 60GB 5400 RPM drive an external 200GB Seagate via USB 2.0 - no problems for me..
