Best method to remove noise/graininess from video

Hello,

I have a video that was shot in low light and need to know the best method to use to remove noise and graininess. I have Veg5 and have tried the color curves filter with little success.

Have you tried Mike Crashes Dynamic noise reducer filter plug and smart smoother? they work wonders.
Dont know the site off hand but you can find it on the VASST site.

Did you shoot it with one of the newer microscopic CCD cameras?

Here are two stills:

1. with the light turned on http://www.focusmediaanddesign.com/gl2pics/image_with_lighton.jpg (this is what I wish the dark ones looked like :)

2. with light off http://www.focusmediaanddesign.com/gl2pics/image_with_lightoff.jpg (as you can see very dark and grainy)
