best remote control

I have been looking at the ad's in the Videomaker magazine and see at least 3 remote controls that can be mounted on a tripod. I need advice as to which one is the best to purchase. I have been looking at one from Varizoom, one from signvideo and one from Sudio1Store. I am using a 3221 bogen tripod with a 501 head and Sony camcorder. Please advise.

I have been using VariZoom's StealthZoom since it became available and have found it to be excellent. The variable zoom feature is quite valuable to me and easy to control. If I were to purchase another controller I would probably spring for the additional $30 and get the StealthLXZoom or even the VZ-Rock to see if I like the rocker type of zoom control.

What seems to be missing from the other models you mentioned is the great zoom controller that you have with the VariZoom.

Hope that helps.

I recently purchased the Bogen / Manfrotto 522C Camera Remote Control Handle . I've used it on a few shoots already and I absolutely love it! Most of the stuff I do is filming live bands in clubs and I have to have my camera so high to get over the peoples heads...this thing is a lifesaver, before I had to stand there with my arm up in the air all night just to operate the camera.
