I am currently producing a 32 clip movie music quiz with voice numbers 1-32 and a 3 second beep countdown between clips for our local club. What is the best setting for rendering to use for an MP3 file output. in Vegas Pro 20. I will be playing the file from my MP3 player into a Bluetooth speaker.

44.kHz sample rate with a bit rate of 128kbs should be more than sufficient for spoken word and sounds without complex harmonic content like music. CBR (constant bit rate) is usually recommended for reliable playbacks.
If you encode the MP3 in single-channel mono mode, the resolution (audio quality) will be doubled and will have about the same file size if it was encoded in two-channel (stereo). Of course any left/right spacial content would be lost (if there was any to begin with.
