Ive been compressing with sorenson and using Quicktime.

My question is what is the ":best format for preparing streaming video for a Windows based audience.

I tried wmv in the vegas render options and its audio was mono only!

I need higher quality audio in these streams because the movies are audio centric

should I use real, avi??????? is there a way to do wmv and use mp3 for the audio?

wma, if it's audio only. WMV can be video with audio, just video, or audio only, but it's designed for audio/video.
WMV=Windows Media Video.
WMA=Windows Media Audio.

You can deliver better than CD quality this way. (Don'tcha just love that buzzword?)
Any wmv at high bitrate than 100 is automatically stereo. You can always diminish the video quality to have higher audio quality, but there is NO NEED to stream stereo audio with a video. Almost never.
