Best Way to Do Reverb For Multiple Scenes With a Reverb Plug-in

Say for example, I have a project that needs different types of reverb throughout it's duration.

Like a short movie sort of deal, with a vocal track that in one scene will have long reverb in one scene (ex. a sewer) and short reverb in another (ex. hallway of a house.) Would the best way to do this be something like:

  1. Put the reverb plug-in on an audio assignable fx track.
  2. Route the vocal track to the fx track.
  3. Use automation on the audio assignable fx track to change the reverb plug-in's settings per scene.

I've been doing it this way for years, I was just wondering if there was a more efficient way to do it.

Using the latest version VEGAS PRO and mainly the reverb plug-in Stratus to accomplish my nefarious deeds.

You could put the reverb plug-in on the specific audio event(s), which 'may' be easier than configuring the parameter automation. depending on how many parameters need to be changed. Having multiple send/return (assignable Fx) is another option.

Tracks are cheap.
