Best way to start

I'm about to conduct an interview and the finished DVD will be a mix of clips, stills and Cinescore soundtrack. I'm a bit nervous about using VPPA as it might take to more time than I want to spend getting it going. An any encouragement about the best way to start?
Are there any templates to do what I want? Inside Vegas or stand-alone? Any help will be much appreciated

I'm not a video pro, but I do work in other areas, and my philosophy usually boils down to:

Don't use tools you are not familiar with, unless you have to. (i.e. they provide a solution or function you need to complete the project).

Spend the time between projects to learn the new tools that are available to you.

I guess it would be helpful to know how you think Production Assistant could help you. I would start by watching all of the tutorials, to get a better idea of all of the capabilities of Production Assistant. That may give you ideas all by itself.

I would imagine that the Montage tool can be used to bring life to the still images. The Motion tool could be used to create an exciting opening sequence. It goes without saying that the Lower Thirds tool can be used to display the interviewee's name and title. If you recorded separate audio on each channel of your camera the channel split tool will quickly separate these out into two mono tracks. These are just some of the ways I can think of using Production Assistant given the information you've supplied.
