Absolutely worth doing! If you feel like investing a little further there are some DV-component converters, but we've been able to get very good picture and sound onto SPBeta from Vegas, using the Sony DVMCDA2 composite converter and recording onto our in-house UVW/PVW/BVWs.

Please let us know your own opinion on image and sound quality once you get it out to SP-

...What is "your UVW/PVW/BUW"...I am interested to find out more about transfer to Beta from V.V.

I don't know about the video. (not my area) But the audio should sound fine. Use the AFM tracks (3&4) if you have a BVW machines available. But the linar tracks 1&2 should still sound acceptible. If you do have a BVW machine, record to all,1&2 and 3&4 so it will be playable on Betacam decks without the AFM tracks.

I got mixed up.. Sorry for any confusion. The PVW and P-series VTRs, have the AFM audio tracks. However there are some BVW machines around that have an add on AFM upgrade....
