better processor

I compared these two processors on Intel's site & found little difference but maybe I will understand a forum response better. Which would be better for HD editing- an Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4 GHz 1066 MHZ FSB or a Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.0 GHz 1333 FSB? I'm assuming all else, ie graphics card, memory, etc. equal.

The Core 2 Quad is MUCH faster for HD video editing. Check this site and compare the processor numbers for yourself....

I have the Q6600 and it rocks. It is easily overclockable as well, to 3.0ghz and then you have 4 3.0ghz. Regardless, you'll see that 4 processors renders HD video pretty well if you're using a codec that utilizes 4 cores.

Thanks drewU2, you may have saved me about $500. I checked the cpu benchmark website.
